Soil Blocking

Soil blocking creates less waste, but it does have a definite learning curve.

Supplies Needed

– Soil blockers – standard and/or mini sizes, plus mini inserts if needed – Seeds – A tub for mixing your seed-starting mixture – Seed starting mixture or the ingredients to make your own mix (peat or coconut coir, compost, perlite, and seed starting mix) – Water – Tub with water (for rinsing off your soil blocker) – Seed starting trays or other flat, plastic trays (for holding your soil blocks)

Moisten your seed starting mix

Step 2

Fill up your soil blockers

Step 3

Make your blocks

Step 4

Plant your seeds

Don’t forget to water
