Soil blocking creates less waste, but it does have a definite learning curve.

Supplies Needed

Soil blockers – standard and/or mini sizes, plus mini inserts if needed Seeds A tub for mixing your seed-starting mixture Seed starting mixture or the ingredients to make your own mix (peat or coconut coir, compost, perlite, and seed starting mix) Water Tub with water (for rinsing off your soil blocker) Seed starting trays or other flat, plastic trays (for holding your soil blocks)

Blend your seed starting mix

Moisten your seed starting mix

Step 2

Fill up your soil blockers

Step 3

Make your blocks

Step 4

Plant your seeds

Don’t forget to water
