The toothpick method has become popular in recent years thanks to the internet. But does it really work?
1. Wash that pit off carefully to get any remaining bits of avocado off. 2. Fill a small cup with water and set it down somewhere safe where it won’t get knocked over. 3. Stick at least 3 toothpicks into the sides of the avocado at roughly equal distances apart. 4. Once you have the toothpicks in set the pit on top of the glass of water so the pit is hovering just barely over the top of the water. 5. Then…you wait.
Sometimes you can't go wrong with some old fashioned seed, dirt, pot method for growing avocados.
When it's warm enough outside give your avocado tree some direct sunlight. It will thank you!
